October 5, 2009

today i’m launching a new, mini-collection of four, ultra-chic mix and match wedding garters that are made from recycled plastic bottles…..say what!?!

yuppers! it is true! i’ve been wanting to launch this line for such a long time. i finally had the chance to get it all together and i’m so, so excited. i’m excited because being as environmentally aware as you can be in everyday life and on your wedding day is important. we all know this (or at least we should)! there are lots of ways to go green on your wedding day, click here and here and here for ideas. and, now you can get an environmentally friendly and totally chic wedding garter.

i hand crafted this first-of-its-kind collection of green wedding garters from eco-friendly grosgrain ribbon. the ribbon is woven using yarn made from 100% post consumer polyester, which is made from recycled plastic bottles.

proving that you don’t have to give up style to be eco-friendly, i designed the eco-fabulous wedding garters in bright, fun colors that can be mixed and matched. each wedding garter has a simple stripe that is knotted in the middle and you can substitute four different background colors (ivory, grey, white, natural) with four different accent colors (navy blue, maize, lemon grass, white) to custom design the perfect wedding garter for you.

on my website, i have four different color combos for sale. brides (or friends of brides) may purchase any of these stylish wedding garters, or they can email me at info[@] to mix and match the colors and customize their wedding garter.

but, is it soft?? yup! (i know, environmentally friendly items sometimes get a bad wrap.) this environmentally friendly grosgrain ribbon is softer than other, regular types of grosgrain ribbon. it feels great and secure against the skin. (yes, i’ve tested ’em out!)

so, the next time you chuck a plastic bottle into the recycle bin, think to yourself…could that bottle be a brides’s wedding garter someday??

leave a comment, let me know what you think!
