elegance & simplicity: fabulous garters (and a little green)

June 1, 2009

i just don’t even know what to say.  i’m in awe, really.  the super sweet and totally down-to-earth, katie martin of elegance & simplicity did an amazing blog post about my new wedding garter collection and the launch party.

and, even better than the post – she came to my party!  she was so great and so supportive.  having met her, i can totally see why she is so good at what she does.  wow!

where to begin….elegance & simplicity really has it all.  they are a full service wedding and event planning company based in bethesda, maryland.  they are a one-stop-shop from total event design to invitations to flowers to candy bar rentals. and, now my garters (yay!)

for elegance & simplicity one-stop isn’t just a matter of convenience for their clients, although that part is a nice bonus.  rather, it is a way of doing business for this company.  they are a green company that not only puts on amazing events, but also keeps their carbon footprint on this earth in check.  it can be done!  you CAN have an awesome event and BE environmentally aware.

elegance and simplicity has taken the “greening your event” concept nationwide and started the usa green wedding consortium.  the green consortium helps engaged couples find environmentally aware vendors in other cities.  truly amazing stuff.

i am by no means  an “environmentalist,” believe me!  but, i do try to make small efforts that hopefully will go a long way (taking the bus and metro, using biodegradable diapers…for my daughter, not me).

so, don’t stop having fun parties with amazing decor and beautiful touches.  let’s just green it up a bit…and, elegance & simplicity can help!

ditch the party? or go green? leave a comment, let me know what you think!

I think going green for your big day is a great way to have fun AND help the environment… and you are right, its small things that can make a big difference !
